About

Spencer Banko

My name is Spencer and I am a rising 4th year CS major at Georgia Tech with a minor in Business and Computing. I've lived in Georgia my whole life but am currently working as a software engineering intern at Shopify out of New York City. At Shopify, I'm working on merchant subscriptions and doing a lot of full stack work on Merchant plans. Besides that, I interned at a consulting firm called Protiviti last summer in Atlanta where I was working as a Machine Learning Engineering intern on a project for National Vision.

Outside of work, I am involved in a nonprofit organization at GT called Bits of Good where I'm currently the product manager of a student scheduling web application called GT Scheduler that is used by over 30,000 students a month. In my free time, I really like doing activities like playing beach volleyball 🏐 since I'm the captain of the club team at Tech and rock climbing 🧗 since I've been competing since I was a little kid. I'm also getting back into running 🏃 and am planning to run the Athens Half Marathon in a couple months.
